After more than 25 years making photos of celebrities, musicians, politicians, businesspeople, and criminals, I've found that the people you've never heard of are the most interesting.

My photographs have appeared in Time, Newsweek, Life, and other magazines, as well as in books and on album covers. I've won awards from the  National Press Photographers Associations' Pictures of the Year, California Press Photographers Association, and San Francisco Bay Area Press Photographers Association.

I helped develop one of the first digital photography programs in the country while working at the San Francisco Examiner in the late 1980's, and was the Examiner's Prepress Director and later the Chronicles Quality Control Manager in charge of color reproduction.

My work now includes editorial, the arts, travel, and corporate assignments. I also teach photography at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
