I've been a photographer for more than 25 years, making photos of celebrities, musicians, politicians, businesspeople, and criminals, but I think the most interesting people are the ones you've never heard of.
My photographs have appeared in Time, Newsweek, Life, and other magazines, as well as in books and on album covers. I've won awards from the San Francisco Bay Area Press Photographers Association, California Press Photographers Association, and National Press Photographer Associations' Pictures of the Year.
I helped develop one of the first digital photography programs in the country while working at the San Francisco Examiner in the late 1980's, and was the Examiner's Prepress Director and later the Chronicles Quality Control Manager in charge of color reproduction.
My work now includes magazines, arts, travel, and corporate assignments. I also teach photography at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
